LeoBlue secures a major milestone with the granting of a European patent

This is a historic milestone for LeoBlue: the European Patent Office has just approved our patent application for Bluetooth transmission from a satellite to a ground terminal. This breakthrough confirms our position as a pioneer in NewSpace.

This is a historic milestone for LeoBlue: the European Patent Office has just approved our patent application for Bluetooth transmission from a satellite to a ground terminal. This breakthrough confirms our position as a pioneer in NewSpace.

Led by Philippe Lattes and Guillaume Ferré, this innovation marks a turning point in the way we think about global connectivity.

A technological revolution: Bluetooth from space

Until now, satellite connectivity has often been synonymous with complexity: expensive terminals, bulky antennas and closed proprietary protocols.

By successfully using Bluetooth, a universal technology already present in billions of devices, directly from orbit, LeoBlue is breaking down technological barriers. Now, a simple smartphone or standard sensor can receive vital data anywhere on the planet without additional equipment.

A strategic agreement for exclusive use

Beyond the technical feat, this announcement is accompanied by a key structural milestone: the signing of an agreement with SATT Aquitaine Science Transfert.

This agreement grants LEOBLUE exclusive rights to exploit this patent. This exclusivity secures our competitive advantage and allows us to accelerate the industrialisation of our solutions for partner satellite constellations.

What’s next?

With this European patent in hand, LeoBlue now has the legal and technical foundation it needs to deploy its alert and tracking services on an international scale. Our mission remains unchanged: to save lives and protect assets using technology that everyone already has in their pocket.
